Alexandria Borg El Arab Airport (HBE)

Alexandria Borg El Arab Airport (HBE) is an airport in northern Egypt, named after Alexandria and nearby Borg El Arab. It serves Alexandria and the Nile Delta. Due to its location on the Mediterranean Sea, the city is not as hot as in the rest of Egypt. Notable landmarks in Alexandria include the Citadel of Qaitbay and the Montaza Palace.

Alexandria remained the capital of Egypt for nearly a thousand years and was extremely prosperous due to its strategic trading location between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. It also became the learning center for the ancient world and retains its academic importance to this day.

Among the sights that visitors can see is the beautiful Montazah Palace, located on a hill overlooking the sea. Once the summer home of the Egyptian royal family, it now houses a museum in their honor. It is built according to a Turkish and Italian architectural design and stands in some of the most beautiful gardens in Alexandria. They are open to the public and well worth a visit.
