Czech Republic, also called Czech Republic, country in Central Europe. It includes the historic provinces of Bohemia and Moravia, along with the southern tip of Silesia, collectively often referred to as the Czech countries. In 2016, the country adopted the name “Czech Republic” as a shortened, informal name for the Czech Republic.
