The province of Mardin is a province in the Tigris part of the Southeastern Anatolia region. It borders Syria.
It is one of the poetic cities of the Southeast that gives the impression that time stands still with its architectural, ethnographic, archaeological, historical and visual values. In keeping with various religious beliefs, Mardin contains mosques, tombs, churches, monasteries and similar religious artifacts that are also historically valuable. Mardin is located on the Silk Road and there are five inns and a caravanserai in the province.
