Stuttgart Airport (STR)
Stuttgart Airport (STR) is located in southwestern Germany and is the main airport in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is an important basis for the low-cost airline Eurowings and the charter airlines Condor and TUI fly Deutschland. The Stuttgart trade fair was opened next to the airport, a favorable development for the city, the airport and foreign business travelers.
Stuttgart is an important railway junction on the natural route connecting the Danube to Northern Germany and the Rhine. It is the center of the largest industrial zone in southwestern Germany and has various fairs and congresses. The metropolitan area is the location of the world or the German headquarters of a number of leading companies, including Daimler AG and Porsche. The auto industry is at the heart of the local manufacturing sector, but the region is also home to many general and electrical engineering companies as well as clean energy, robotics and fuel cell and laser technology companies.
